The new SYW French figures have been added to the catalogue on the website and are available for purchase. There are nine new figures in total, four command and five line infantrymen. Sean has done a great job again on these and they are truly lovely sculpts.

These are the first of our figures representing units in later uniforms wearing coats with turn-backs. This is the first release and we hope to be expanding this part of the range in the future. Expect to see a marching drummer in the Royal Livery, marching Officer Standard Bearer, infantrymen kneeling firing and standing at the ready.

As with all the figures in the Seven Years War range, the heads are separate and there are several faces to provide variety.

The pictures here and on the website are painted by Daniel Bustos, a far more talented painter than I am.

The four command figures consist of an officer with a half pike in his right hand, an officer holding a flag staff, a sergeant with a halberd and a drummer. All command figures have coats without turn-backs and complement the existing command figures who are all advancing.

The new line infantry are all in coats with turn-backs, representing a later version of the French Seven Years War uniform.

Three of the figures represent soldiers from a firing line, standing firing, standing loading and kneeling at the ready. The other two figures are both in advancing poses; one advancing with his left leg forward, the other running with his left leg off the ground.

The standing firing figure and the kneeling at the ready figure are both nice clean sculpts full of character. SYWF44 is standing firing and SYWF45 is kneeling at the ready.

SYWF46 is the standing loading figure and as with similar figures in the range this one comes with two options, one with the musket held with its butt on the ground and the other with the musket held at the waist.

Both advancing figures come with two options for muskets, allowing clear variations in the positioning of the weapons.

AWF47 is advancing with his left leg forward and his musket held out in the attack position, or with a spare right hand and his left hand holding his musket by the butt so that it can be positioned over his shoulder.

AWF48 is advancing quickly with one leg off the ground and his musket across his body, or, with the musket over his left shoulder and a spare right hand.

The loading and advancing figures come with both options when purchasing a figure; no need to specify one variation or the other. The advancing command figures from our existing FIW/SYW range work well with these new figures.
